This let us make it look like a real game to our players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This playground lesson uses a technology called <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/spritekit\/\">SpriteKit<\/a>. It sounds like a soda-making toolbox, but it&#8217;s Apple&#8217;s framework for building 2-dimensional games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using this framework, we can detect collisions between sprites, which are elements in our scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll handle these collisions and call methods on our sprites to make them respond in suitably realistic ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can you think of other places you might want to use this type of collision detection and physics (like <code>applyImpulse<\/code>, which we&#8217;ve already used)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join us today at 1pm and we&#8217;ll build some cool stuff!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join us today at 1pm, Irish time, for some more coding!
